NEKLS Covid grantee information session - Shared screen with speaker view
We were told 72 hours but today told it must be 96 hours by our county health department.
We are using gloves for students to browse books.
Is it possible for you to send a new acceptance form? I filled it out not realizing my district admin needs to fill it out.
I will need that document again
Ok, thank you!
I need the press release doc, not the acceptance
So you need two of the acceptance forms, one from us and one from admin?
So we need our admins to fill out the acceptance also? I thought it was either or...
The message I got said I could fill it out OR my administrator. I completed it. Do I need it to be resubmitted by my admisnistrator?
I’m confused…I thought that the acceptance form had a yes/no option that you select that your admin agrees that you accept the grant.
Okay, I don’t need a second form.
I didn't get that, just checked my email and it's not there.
If it is exactly the same amount, is that ok, or would you rather it be a little bit more?
Do you want us to scan receipts to email to you?
If the grant goes for part of a subscription, like PebbleGo or MackinVIA do you want the total amount that we spent?
Can you talk a bit about what you mean by Staff/Admin outcomes?
eBooks related to curriculum that staff can use
What about professional learning?
I have to get back to checking out MacBooks to parents and students. Good luck everyone! If I have questions, I will reach out. Thank you!
Before we leave today, is it possible to discuss just a bit what we are specifically using our funds for? It’s always good to share ideas if comfortable sharing with all. We are planning on using ours for the new KS School Library Consortium and ebooks with MackinVia.
Kansas Consortium and MackinVia
We can drop them in chat...
WE will be doing the same as above but also developing our ESL materials for secondary
Kansas Consortium, materials to safely quarantine materials when returned to library, and e-books from MackinVia
Both digital & hard copy
Kansas Consortium, MackinVIA and Follett audiobooks & ebooks, and equipment for curbside/contactless book checkout
Containers for quarantine, organizational items for classroom & curbside delivery
KS School Library Consortium ebooks and 25 bluetooth iPad keyboards.
Consortium, digital books
I am using some for the consortium as well - middle school as well as more ebooks from Mackin and Follett. Also some on safety for curbside delivery, book cart for classroom delivery and books.
What equipment are you using for contactless delivery/curbside?
Capstone ebooks—and they had a matching deal, so I doubled the amount!!
Consortium, Capstone PebbleGo
We currently have no e-books so excited to use our grant to start a collection of e-books.
Anna Foote, NEKLS
Curbside/Classroom delivery supplies and plexiglass shields for tech support desk.
Books to diversify and enhance the collection and books for students to have at home.
Ebooks through Sora which is a branch of Overdrive. We were also able to connect our Sora account to the Tonganoxie Public Library's Overdrive account and are sharing digital content.
DEMCO has some bags that you can use for oversized books, and them larger ziplocs
Laundry baskets with wheels and a handle
We have sealed plastic tubs (just lids) for each day of the week to put returned materials in.
Same as Beth Bird.
Are most schools anticipating student traffic in their library?
We are not having students in our library (Lawrence)
No. I cam going to classes.
Spring Hill MS is not having student traffic.
No, we are remote
Yes, but they can’t go to shelves. Only for class
yes we are letting students into our library
Tonganoxie has not been given any direction yet as to whether or not we will have student traffic.
We are doing student traffic on a scheduled class basis -- we don't really have any other resources to do. Students will use gloves to browse and will digitally checkout via a form on their school Chromebooks.
We have to have students in the library, no room anywhere else. I’m not going to have them touch any books. We have a large room so I can distance them better that way.
No students in library at Prairie Creek (USD 230) Spring HIll
Thank you so much!
Goof info share! Thanks!
How do we inquire about Sora? Do we contact our public library? Apologize if someone has already talked about this.
Thank you so much for this!
Can you send me the list of Sunflower libraries?
