They will be posted in the folder I just posted in the chat - all 3 webinars will be represented in that folder, so all the info will be there by May 15th!
Aimée Kenyon
28:36
Thank you Robin
Becky

Can we have the dates for when the GAAP and the GAAB need to be done in the year?
NEKLS Robin
33:30
The GAAB (actually GASB) doesn't have to be done, it's just informational. GAAP can be done anytime in the year - Laura suggests a regular schedule (like in Jan every year).
NEKLS Robin
34:23
(I'm trying to get the answers in chat, so if it looks like I'm being redundant, it's for the folks who just want to skim the chat for Q and A's.)

Sorry I am late.
NEKLS Robin
35:23
We are recording, so you can catch up when I send out the link to the recording!
Horton Public Library
35:33
Wonderful!
Robin Newell
37:53
Why do grants go into the General Fund? Its not a tax levy? What fund does an appropriation go into?
Sharon Moreland-Sender @ Linwood
38:00
Do most libraries offer short-term disability and life insurance?
Director
38:18
can you get employee benefit fund when you are still under home rule?
Connie
38:28
we nee to replace the sidewalk out front. Can that come from Capital Improvement?
Robin Newell
39:09
Okay, thanks.
Lyndon library
40:34
Is the EBF a different line item on the township budget for the library
NEKLS Robin
41:21
The General Fund is for operating funds - you can put anything that goes to operating expenses in there. More info at the end of the webinar.
NEKLS Robin
41:48
No, most libraries don't offer short term or life insurance. They are cheap, though, so you might be able to...
NEKLS Robin
42:08
Yes, you can if home rule is just a charter ordinance.
NEKLS Robin
42:33
Connie - Yes, you can use that as a Capital Improvement
Sharon Moreland-Sender @ Linwood
43:22
Do you recommend looking back 3-5 years to see trends?
NEKLS Robin
43:38
Lyndon - yes
NEKLS Robin
43:41
Sharon - yes
Diana Weaver
51:18
Alice is the best!!!
AS
51:26
I am always happy to help!!!
Sharon Moreland-Sender @ Linwood
52:12
Do we have to budget income for every tax type or are some, IDK, unreliable?
Melanie - Salina Public Library
53:25
Do Libraries receive excise tax>
NEKLS Robin
53:46
Sharon - yes - with the caveat that some of your Ad Valorem tax might be less because of delinquencies.
NEKLS Robin
54:30
Melanie - depends on city/county as well as other taxes you all might get. Almost none of us get sales taxes, though.
Lyndon library
54:48
Our township always at the end of the year keep money from me or I have to pay back because it is money that wasn't in the budget and they say they can't give it to us. Wouldn't that be coming from delinquent?
Lyndon library
55:04
she can answer me later if it isn't during this time
Lyndon library
55:48
Ok
Director
01:01:59
Does she have a worksheet we should be looking at?
NEKLS Robin
01:02:43
Yes - there is a template that you can use as a worksheet in the shared folder at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1J8oWA-ffZUqY6t9D8lAr9-96dbIGysMJ?usp=sharing
Director
01:02:44
thank you.
NEKLS Robin
01:03:40
I'm not sure this exact sheet is there, but a couple of sheets are and we can see if she can get a copy of this one up today!
Sharon Moreland-Sender @ Linwood
01:11:04
What if we don't have enough 'non-tax' income to cover carryover?
Director
01:12:03
is not state aid consider taxable income?
NEKLS Robin
01:12:47
Sharon - Laura would be surprised, call herDirector - no, it's not income from taxes
AS
01:13:19
State Aid cannot be carried over.
Robin Newell
01:14:34
Emporia receives a set mil amount. There is never an ask. I receive the proposed income numbers from the city five years out.
Wendy Conover
01:17:00
We also have a mil cap and receive the full amount so there isn't technically an "ask" right now.
Director
01:17:23
But then there is never a question on what you will receive either.
Lyndon library
01:18:21
What about building our capital funds or for savings for repairs how does that go into the budget
Wendy Conover
01:18:34
That would be great!
AS
01:18:54
I would be happy to join another meeting where we talk about that as well. :)
Lyndon library
01:19:16
Would that come under misc for capital funds
Lyndon library
01:19:56
If I can't find my ordinance or resolutions where do I start?
NEKLS Robin
01:20:59
Lyndon - check with the city - they should have records of it because they passed it.
Lyndon library
01:21:10
We are a township
NEKLS Robin
01:23:08
I'm not sure if the township can do a home rule ordinance - let's check with Laura on that one at the end?
Lyndon library
01:26:05
is the % of the year or the current
NEKLS Robin
01:29:09
Currrent - it's what you have so far.
Lyndon library
01:29:59

Lyndon library
01:30:40
Ok that is what Im finding out.
Lyndon library
01:33:58
Oh I have gave him all different ways he just wants a certain one and he is sure I can do it in quickbooks cause his office does, it gets frustrating
Horton Public Library
01:34:29
There are different editions of QuickBooks and they process reports differently.

Horton Public Library
01:45:09
